Floppy Emulator helps you to replace floppy disk drive with a USB Stick!
Swap your legacy diskette drive for the new USB floppy drive! From now on use reliable USB Sicks instead of vulnerable diskettes!
Main Features:
- The old floppy disk drive is replaced 1:1. The connections are identical, so no further changes have to be made.
- The USB Stick at the USB Floppy Emulator replaces the old diskette entirely. USB memory components have long life spans and high capacities.
- The new USB floppy drives and USB memory components are practically immune to impacts from magnetic fields, dust or shock.
- The contents on 100 floppies can easily be placed on one single USB Stick. That saves a lot of time and costs!
Followed instructions per Garret W for Windows 10. I get "Error Code C" on proper size images written to proper size floppy formats but they work regardless!
Works with Windows 10 systems as long as a few steps are followed. Once the program is installed "right-click" the .exe and select (Properties). Inside properties select (Compatibility) and look at "Compatibility Mode". Select the "Check" on "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select "Windows 7". Next, run the .exe as an administrator, and now when "opening" the specific floppy the file pathing will take you to the correct folder e.i. (FLOPPY000). Hope this helps anyone else stuck with these issues.
Garrett W, Thank you very much!!! This works for windows 11 as well.
It looks like this won't work on Windows 10 systems. It installs, and the format tool works, but the new 1.44 MB files won't open or accept programs. I read on CNC Zone that if you change your Windows 10 computer to use Windows 7 interface, IPCAS works normally. Hopefully this will be resolved in time by the software engineers.
Zane Adams, I remember once I was using it with windows10, the software tries to use some folders with system permission (read-only) as the temporary folder to show the usb files. I remember I found some settings in this software that I could change these directories, and the problem got solved.
Someone, Where is this configuration so that i can change these directories?
Henry, If you look at my comment I address this issue for Windows 10. Following those steps allowed me to open the new Floppys created instead of a random file directory window. Don't forget to run as an administrator for it to correctly work.
